Tubu Tree Camp

Tubu Tree Camp is located in the Jao Concession within the Okavango Delta in Botswana.  Jao means “floodplain” in Setswana.  The concession floods during the Okavango Deltas high season, then slowly recedes leaving behind green flood plains for plains game and following predators.  The “tree” part comes from Tubu’s design, raised into the tree top’s with elevated walkways.  The famous open-air bar under the Marula tree is a favourite spot for sundowners whilst looking over the flood plain.  Tubu Tree is also located on Hunda Island, a wildlife rich area, especially during the floods as animals migrate onto the island to beat the rising waters.

This camp is ideal for families with a family tent designed with interconnecting bedrooms. Each suite has a verandah, a full en-suite bathroom, plus a private outdoor shower, the only way to shower in Africa in our opinion.  Tubu Tree is  supports sustainable conservation and community upliftment. This is on show as most of the staff are local.  Tubu Tree assists the local school with many of its requirements.
