Kanga Camp

Kanga Camp is set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools on the Kanga Pan. This camp is not your traditional camp set on the river, but inland in untouched wilderness. It is situated on a private concession and offers an authentic safari experience. With the Kanga Pan being the only water source in the dry season (apart from the Zambezi River which is many miles away) Kanga Camp is ideally located to bring a haven of Zimbabwean wildlife right to your doorstep.

The camp has six safari-style tents which are raised on a wooden platform and have their own lounge and dining area. They offer uninterrupted views of a very active waterhole. The feel is simple yet elegant and the rooms boast floor-to-ceiling mesh windows letting you sleep and relax in the breeze of the African bush when you need it.

Kanga Camp has family tents which have wraparound verandas facing the pan, private dining and seating areas. The upper deck lounge in the main area is shaded by mahogany trees and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a refreshing drink. The pool is on the deck right below and the deck provides many spots to sit and enjoy the views. The Kanga team call this the “armchair safari” and it is as relaxing and amazing as it sounds.

This diverse area has multiple seasonal shallow lakes and riverine forests, as well as mixed woodland. Safari drives and bird watching are very popular, but Mana Pools is best known for its excellent walking safari experiences.

Access to Kanga Camp during the rainy season can be difficult as the dry riverbeds fill with water from the escarpments. As a result, Kanga is only open in the dry and shoulder seasons (April to the end of November).
